Together we care for this place
It’s May, and Maymont is buzzing with new energy! Red slate tiles are going into place on the Mansion roof and new pathways are being laid to create smoother connections along the Virginia Wildlife Trail, as the Maymont 2025 project makes steady progress toward completion.
The gardens are lush with new growth, and a new Irish Dexter calf named Maddie joined the Maymont Farm family this spring. Later this summer, pairs of baby coyotes and porcupettes (yes, baby porcupines are called porcupettes!) will arrive at their nursery in The Robins Nature Center while their new habitats are being built on the Virginia Wildlife Trail.
In March, thousands of people came out to celebrate World Wildlife Day with Maymont educators and wildlife groups from across the state. Soon, the grounds will be teeming with Summer Camp students!
