Richmond, Virginia – Music under the stars at Maymont is a special way to kick off the summer! Maymont is pleased to host the annual Summer Kickoff Concert on Friday, May 6, from 6–10pm, featuring two bands: “America’s #1 Yacht Rock band,” Three Sheets to the Wind, and Tom Petty tribute band, Full Moon Fever. With plenty of open space on the Carriage House Lawn for singing, dancing and social distancing, guests are welcome to bring picnic blankets or portable chairs and enjoy tasty food truck cuisine, and beer and cider. Between sets, the entertainment is a sunset over the James River.

New this year, Maymont is offering a special VIP section for guests age 21 and over, in an exclusive reserved space with a view of the stage. VIP guests enjoy complimentary summer fare, including hotdogs and fries, a dedicated cash bar and a luxury rest area.

“May is truly a special time of year at Maymont,” said Parke Richeson, Maymont Executive Director. “We are so happy to provide the community with a uniquely Richmond experience: a live outdoor concert complete with a sunset over the rolling hills of this historic estate by the James.”

Early bird tickets are $25 per person for general admission, and $75 for access to the VIP section, through April 14. Advance tickets are $30 GA/$80 VIP until May 5. Ticket prices increase by $5 at the door. Proceeds benefit Maymont. The event is rain or shine and ticket purchases are non-refundable, except in the case that Maymont cancels the event for severe weather.

The Hampton Gate will open for ticketholders at 6 pm, while all other gates will remain closed. Event parking is available by the Historic Estate Entrance at 1700 Hampton Street, plus The Robins Nature Center and on-street parking.
