Maymont Expands Garden Glow presented by Kroger to 22 Nights, Including 3 Free Nights for Members
Richmond, Virginia – Maymont is expanding its most anticipated event of the year, Garden Glow presented by Kroger, to 22 fun-filled nights this fall, from October 16 – November 10. Giant light sculptures will sprout up around the grounds, and the Japanese Garden presented by Colesville Nursery will once again be transformed by artful lighting into a mesmerizing, immersive experience. Everyone will have a chance to see nature in a different light and to connect in the great outdoors with friends and family.
More nights means more value evenings with discounted admission, and Maymont members enjoy free admission on three evenings, October 16, 22 and 29. The experience will begin at The Robins Nature Center, where guests will find a Glow Bar and Glow Shop before following the Kinsale Glow Path past new creative light installations by international artists.
Guests then arrive at the Glow Village, where everyone can gather around cozy fire pits and glow furniture to enjoy food and drink from the Glow Bar. Guests can treat themselves to Glow Cups presented by Davenport, along with glowing accessories from the Glow Shop. For fun, everyone can try out the new Glow Swings, the Shadow Wall presented by Juno Financial Group, or the popular Big Bright Mega Light. Then guests can venture down the Woodland Trail into the enchantment of the colorful and inspiring Japanese Garden presented by Colesville Nursery.
“Exploring Maymont is fun any time of year during the daytime, and we love offering the community this fresh new experience in the evenings during Garden Glow,” said Parke Richeson, President and CEO of Maymont Foundation. “Each year we offer new activities and new artistic lighting designs. It’s a fun way for the community to support Maymont, too.”
Maymont members enjoy discounted admission, plus three free nights — advance reservations are strongly suggested and popular time slots may sell out. Ticket prices vary by night, from $12 to $20, see website for details. The Museums for All program offers admission of $3 per adult, and free admission for children, to anyone who presents a SNAP/EBT card (advance purchase for Museums for All is available at The Robins Nature Center or Stone Barn Welcome Center Fridays through Sundays, 10am – 5pm). Event proceeds help care for Maymont; the event is rain or shine.
Groups are welcome to reserve a dedicated hospitality space in the Glow Row by CoStar Group. From alumni groups to corporate hospitality gatherings, family nights to team-building outings, the Glow Row by CoStar Group provides the perfect home-base for any group to toast a special occasion and share the glow.
Garden Glow presented by Kroger takes place entirely outdoors, rain or shine, except in the case of severe weather. Guests are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear suited for walking rustic paths. For guests who are unable to walk the hilly terrain, transportation will be provided to the Japanese Garden level.
Event parking is available at The Robins Nature Center and Hampton Street parking lots, in addition to street parking. The Maymont Farm parking lot will serve as overflow parking as needed.
Volunteers are welcome! Learn more and sign up at this link.
