Celebrate Holiday Merriment in Grand Victorian Style at Maymont

Release Date: November 7, 2017

Revel in the merriment of the holiday season during Victorian Holidays at Maymont! The 2017 season is sure to be a jolly one, with updates to Old-Fashioned Christmas including a new storyteller, a chance for children to pen letters to St. Nick, and the return of a nostalgic activity – crafting bird-friendly pinecone ornaments. Hands-on workshops offer creative ways to shape fragrant freshly cut greens into holiday wreaths, topiaries and window swags. For parents who want to finish holiday shopping and gift-wrapping, the wild winter mini-camp is the perfect way to keep their young nature explorers occupied, with outdoor adventures, animal encounters, games, crafts and hands-on activities. Not to mention, families can enjoy some of their favorite traditions – holiday mansion tours and horse-drawn carriage rides – throughout the season. A series of programs and events for all ages is offered for six full weeks, November 17-December 31.

“Victorian Holidays is a festive celebration enjoyed by generations of families from all areas of the Richmond region,” said Parke Richeson, Executive Director at Maymont. “We look forward to bringing holiday merriment to everyone in the community as we continue this cherished tradition.”
