Maymont Moments

We welcome stories of any memorable experiences at Maymont, whether on a class trip, a family picnic, a first date or a wedding. Did you snap your family photo with the Easter Bunny? Do you have a favorite flower or tree, or photos from graduation or Garden Glow? We welcome it all.

It’s easy – click the button, provide your name, zip code and email, click the agreement to share your story, then choose the format or formats that you prefer to share your stories.

You can use your device’s camera to begin telling your story in a video, or type your story into the form on your phone or computer, or click the “upload” button at the bottom of the window to select images or videos from your device. Make sure you caption any photos or videos with the date that they were taken (if you know it), and a description of what it’s showing. It’s that simple!

You have the choice: If you’re ready to tell your story now, just select the video option and begin recording your story as an oral history. Or if you prefer, you can type your story into the text form, or use the “upload” button at the bottom of the window to select images or videos from your device. 

If you need to compose your thoughts first, or search for an older photo, it’s no problem. Whenever you’re ready, come back to this page and click the appropriate button.

The tool doesn’t allow for editing once you’ve clicked “submit.” However, if you recall other stories or find other photos, you can return as many times as you like to share additional content.

If your photos are in physical form in a frame or photo album, just use your phone to snap a picture and upload them later with captions.

The material submitted through this form will be archived for future use by Maymont. It may also be shared through Maymont’s website, email and social media channels as part of celebrating its 100th anniversary. Wherever possible, any publication of the photograph(s), video or text in such a context will be accompanied by a specific credit to the owner or photographer. If you wish to contribute to this project and remain anonymous, please indicate that in the form.
