Programs
Animal Encounter: Birds or Reptiles
30 minutes; 30 person capacity; Raptor Valley Amphitheater
Meet and greet with one of Maymont’s wildlife ambassadors and learn about adaptations that make them unique. A short presentation will give you the opportunity to observe birds or touch reptiles. This an outdoor program, please come prepared for a short hike. Meet at Raptor Valley Amphitheater.
Goat Training
30 minutes; 30 person capacity; Maymont Farm
Observe an exclusive training demonstration and discover how Maymont staff keep the goats on their toes! Learn about positive reinforcement, animal behaviors, and get up close and personal with our farm animals. This an outdoor program, please come prepared for a short hike. Meet at the Farm.
Guided Interpretive Hike
45 minutes; 30 person capacity; The Robins Nature Center and Grounds
Find out fun and fascinating facts as you explore natural environments and observe native wildlife. Questions are welcome during this outdoor trek. Meet at The Robins Nature Center.
Scavenger Hunt
Complete within two hours; unlimited capacity; The Robins Nature Center and Grounds
Let the clues be your guide as you explore Maymont’s grounds. Work in small groups or as a team, and race to the finish for your prize! This is a self-guided outdoor program, please come prepared to hike the 100-acre estate. Meet at The Robins Nature Center.
Wetlands Exploration
45 minutes; 30 person capacity; The Robins Nature Center and Grounds
Discover the importance of wetlands and the living things that call it home. Make use of dip nets to become a scientist and investigate the inner workings of a stream habitat. This an outdoor program, please come prepared for a short hike. Meet at The Robins Nature Center.
