Artist | Jigantics
Jigantics was set up by Jig Cochrane in 2007 after 20 years working in illuminated arts and community arts projects worldwide. He was co-founder of Rise Phoenix (Balkans children arts charity 1991 to 2001) and the giant puppet project in Cambodia 2007 (still active). In 2007 Jig began building and designing a forest of flowers In 2009 the family of activist and Body Shop founder Anita Roddick commissioned Jigantics to create twelve giant red tulip sculptures to be used as the illumination for a service to celebrate her life. Chosen to communicate her wish that hope, beauty and positive actions should overcome the challenging elements of the world.
Those red tulips were the birth of Jigantics as it is known today. Over the years the diversity of designs has evolved along with the people involved in their creation, and the technologies in lighting and sound that have made the way in which they are experienced increasingly dynamic and immersive.

Green Herbum (Herbum Follus)
There are five of these and each is over 22 feet high.
Herbum Follus is a plant or, more precisely, a clump of grass that grew in the shade of a majestic tree. The story goes that tired of begin trodden on or mowed, this plant vied with ingenuity to overtake the old oak, its incredulous guardian, and delight the owner of the premises, a mad botanist. The result was Herbum Follus with stems some 7m high. This incredible phenomenon was greeted by a strange crowning glory: at nightfall, glowing fireflies landed at the end of the stems, making them twinkle in the wind. A few rare specimens of these will-o-the-wisp plants still exist, thanks to the invaluable care of the botanist, who took cuttings from them.
Ros’O
There are 16 of these and each are over 22 feet high.
Bouquets of five luminous rushes of different sizes, assembled in large numbers to form a giant, original and elegant grove. A glamorous, quirky touch for this wild plant species that usually borders waterways.
