A lecture and reception sponsored by the Maymont Council
Presented by Elisabeth Griffith, author of “In Her Own Right: The Life of Elizabeth Cady Stanton”

Join us for an in-depth look at the century-long struggle for woman’s suffrage presented by Elisabeth Griffith, author of “In Her Own Right: The Life of Elizabeth Cady Stanton.” Griffith’s exploration will lead us from abolition to the Nineteenth Amendment to the present day, throughout the fight to secure voting rights for all American women. Find out why victory required three generations of leadership, competing strategies, class and racial struggles, and controversial, charismatic women. A reception follows the lecture.
