Herbs Galore

Saturday, April 26
8am – 3pm

Carriage House Lawn (1700 Hampton Street)

Find something new for your garden – and all your tried-and-true favorites, too – at Richmond’s favorite plant sale, Herbs Galore!

Bring a wagon and shop from dozens of nurseries and specialty vendors spread out on the Carriage House Lawn offering an amazing array of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and vegetables, plus garden-inspired accessories and gifts.

There will be plenty of herbs and herbal products, of course, some featuring chamomile, the 2025 Herb of the Year!

Throughout the day, plant experts will present demos and talks from the main stage, between sets of entertaining music from the Richmond Indigenous Gourd Orchestra. Budding young gardeners can try out crafts and activities at the Education Station.

Why not make a day of it? Park your purchases at the free plant holding area and go! The gardens and grounds at Maymont will be in lush bloom, and audio tours of the Italian Garden are free. Local food vendors will offer a selection of treats and mimosas.

Chamomile, 2025 Herb of the Year

Chamomile is a versatile flowering plant used for millennia for a variety of medicinal and flavorful benefits. The cheerful white and yellow flowers are attractive to pollinators and have been known to enhance other plants growing nearby. No wonder the International Herb Association selected it as Herb of the Year in its 30th year of the designation.

Food Trucks

Plan to pick up breakfast or lunch while you’re here. A variety of breakfast and lunch options will be available from local food vendors, and a picnic area will be available throughout the day. If you’re 21+, there will be craft beers, wine and a refreshing selection of different mimosa combinations available, as well.

Herb Of The Year

MARKETPLACE ON THE LAWN

The 6-acre Carriage House Lawn will host dozens of plant and specialty vendors from across the region for Herbs Galore, bringing a wide variety of herbs, annuals, perennials, trees, vegetables and garden-inspired food and décor items. Scan the list of participating vendors and visit their websites for inspiration. Additional vendors may be added until the week of the event, so check back for updates.

Please note: some vendors will only be accepting cash, so make sure to have a little on hand just in case!
