11:30am – 6:30pm
Carriage House Lawn (1700 Hampton Street)

Special notice for Saturday ticket holders: Your tickets will be honored on Sunday because of early event closure due to lightning.

Toast the fall with friends and family at Bier-Garden on the Carriage House Lawn at Maymont! This two-day German-style festival is the perfect way to join in the world’s largest folk festival without traveling to Munich!

Wear your lederhosen or dirndl, or come as you are! Revelers of all ages will find a festive scene with lively music, German folk dancers, yard games, and an authentic Marketplatz featuring local vendors selling artisanal treats and gifts. Bring the kids for an afternoon of crafts, games, entertainment and more in the Kinderzone

On the entertainment stage, DJ BearBonez will spin festival tunes all afternoon, with performances by juggler Jonathan Austin, the Hirschjäger dancers and Fritz’s Polka Band. Don’t miss the dachshund costume contest and parade, hosted by the Dachshund Enlightenment Foundation.

Bier-Garden admission includes entry to The Robins Nature Center from 11:30am-5pm, so you may explore and learn while you're at Maymont!

Food, Beer and Fun!

Hoist an authentic Paulaner beer, or try a variety of local craft brews, cider and non-alcoholic options. Savor mouth-watering Bavarian and Polish specialties like brats, schnitzel and pierogi, all crafted by local chefs, plus fun festival treats from some of our favorite food trucks.

There’s plenty of space to spread out! Grab a picnic table or a bench, or take a seat at a Munich-style long table in the Festhaus tent, with entertainment scheduled all day. Join in the Stein-Hoisting Contest to see who can outlast everyone else – two rounds per day!

And, for dedicated beer aficionados and homebrew-curious, learn from demonstrations by Dan Jablow of Small Batch Brewing and Director of Brewing Education at University of Richmond's School of Professional and Continuing Studies.
