You “Otter” Know

Our newest furry family members, Louis and his female pal, made their debut last week at the Nature Center. We hope you’ll visit soon to see these rescued otters in action, but if you can’t get to Maymont, you’ll still be able to watch them dive and swim on our proposed Otter Cam. With your help, everyone will be able to view the awesome antics of these fun-loving RVA sweethearts from the comfort of their home (or office…we won’t tell!).

Find out how you can donate to our Otter “Cam”paign and as an added bonus, certain giving levels will have the chance to submit a name suggestion for our female otter! Here are some fun facts about these amazing aquatic mammals.

  1. Are you still asking for name suggestions for Louis’ friend? I want to suggest MAVIS, but I don’t know where to send this. My grandsons are members and we have enjoyed Maymont for years. I have renewed their membership over and over and though I do not live in Virginia, I visit at least once every time I am here. Miss Neptune and Pandora, but happy that new friends are here now. Looking forward to my next visit this week.
