Nature calls! Maymont's wildly popular summer camps offer outdoor adventures, animal encounters, games, crafts and hands-on activities for nature explorers ages 3-rising 6th graders. Your child will learn and explore with a teacher from Maymont’s discovery camps team, which includes our full-time environmental education staff and certified teachers from local schools. CUB CAMP

Explore nature with your favorite pre-schooler in this exciting camp! You and your cub will learn about wildlife through games, hikes, crafts and visits with Maymont’s animals.

One Fish, Two Fish! Fox in Sox! This camp at Maymont really rocks! Dr. Seuss stories will lead the way, with animals, crafts and games to play!

SENSES AND DEFENSES

ANIMAL KEEPER CAMP

Calling all animal enthusiasts! Discover what it takes to care for the hundreds of animals at Maymont. With the help of aquarists and animal keepers, you'll assist with feeding and care, and create enrichment treats and activities for Maymont’s animals.

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH

What does “going green” really mean? Discover important issues about our environment as we investigate pollution, endangered animals and energy. Learn creative ways to help our planet like recycling everyday objects into solar ovens, terrariums and more!

Camp Volunteers

Junior Naturalists ages 15-18 assist in teaching younger campers about our natural environment while gaining great experience in the environmental science field! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 804-358-7166, ext. 327.

Cancellations/Refunds

If you need to cancel, contact the Environmental Education department as soon as possible. Your camper can be transferred into a comparable camp at no additional cost if space is available. 50% of the registration fee will be refunded for cancellations made at least three weeks prior to the start of the camp session. No refunds will be available for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to the session. Allow three to four weeks from the time of cancellation for a refund to be issued.
